I am dealing wirth education with Unison and looking at ways nurses can get grants or money off degree courses, thanks Steve

I live in California and want a Nursing school that doesn’t require any prerequisites, all the ones online I found you have to be a nurse first then you could do online classes to get a higher degree.I don’t care if I have to attend classes in person but I don’t want to do the prerequisites because it would be 4 years at least because I work full time.

Does anyone know of scholarships or grants, state or government, that a male nursing student could apply for in Florida ?

My step-father is going into a nursing home soon. He is pretty much confined to a wheel-chair due to neuropathy and adverse affects from chemotherapy. He can feed himself, dress himself, basic care things, but he needs help getting from bed to wheel-chair, from wheel-chair to use the bathroom and needs help showering. So would this be considered skilled care, or sheltered care?
Hi Reggie Sweetie =) hope you and hubby had a good Valentines!
Here in the U.S., in nursing homes there are different levels of care depending on the person’s needs. I’m just trying to double check on this because he’s going to another place (which is long-term) in a few weeks. The new place is so incredibly nice, and the staff are very kind and attentive. I talked to six of the residents and they all said they liked it there, and we have heard lots of good things from people who have their loved ones there. But still this is a hard decision and I am trying to ease up on crying about it all the time. If he went home, he would be confimed and plus my dear Mom’s nerves would cause her to be irritable with him like usual, which is miserable for everyone. At this new place, there are lots of male patients that will be his buddies in no time, and they keep them very busy. It’s just 15 minutes from our house, and we can go a couple times a week to see him. XXOO

I had a dog that raised a kitten. (the mother had bad milk) Our dog took the last kitten and carried it to a chair and was in it nursing it. It did give milk.

My mother works in a nursing home in North Carolina and recently a patient went “beserk” (her own words). He was kicking, fighting, screaming obsenities. Nurses on his hall called for help and my mother, on another hall, came to their aid. She helped to restrain the man (abiding all hospital procedures). Later that night, the same thing occurred. They placed him in a Geri-Chair and set him out in the hallway. Another nurse attempted to put the patient back into his room, but my mother told the nurse to leave him in the hall. (His episodes took place when he was unrestrained in his room.) A couple of days later, my mother got a call saying that she was under investigation, but they will not tell her why or what it’s about. Is this legal (on the part of the nursing home)? Can anyone provide any helpful websites/sources about this matter?

i’m considering taking some online classes or going to a local tech college to take nursing classes–it keeps asking me the specific subject i’m interested in and i’m just wanting to take the basics i’ll need to be able to work in a hospital or dr. office for now…so what would that be. please help me out! lol. oh yeah and any additional comments are more than welcome (about nursing or what not) THANKS BUNCHES !!!
