I would like to be a CNA while I am in college. I am not a nursing major, but would like to earn better money and help people for a couple years. I already have my AA. I called all the nursing homes, and none of them offer classes or on the job training. The only places that offer a CNA license are the local colleges. I don’t want to pay $350 to $500, and sit in another class for 5 months. Is there any online CNA classes? And if so, are they legit?
I am taking a nursing aide class in the fall. I have to have solid white scrubs. I already have a solid white pair of new shoes(prof. cheerleading shoes, they can take a beating, and help to reduce chafing and sores). Where can I find a super cheap place that sells solid white scrubs?? Also any advice on how to get through this training and prep for the job at hand? I am a really fast learner. This is not a permanent profession for me, I just need a job that places are demanding and pay alright(at least better than the fast food places and you have to work just as hard). I am not a mean person. The way I look at things are like this: it’s my job so I have to do it!, Even though I’m doing this for the money that doesn’t mean I’m going to be MEAN to the patients. I want to respect them and know I am there to help( I know some are crazy but that’s ok). Cleaning up crap is not a job anyone truly likes all the time there, but it’s a job and somebody’s got to do it.
She’s always wanted to be a RN (Registered Nurse) but could never afford college when she was younger. If anyone can tell me what I can do or possibly give me a website so she can do her online classes than that would help a whole lot. Thanks!
so does anyone know of any online pre courses i can take online for nursing.. im pregnant and really want to get started.
When I was 25 I was so excited to get into alternative healthcare because my art career never took off so I began a career in massage and boy….when i went out to find work all i got was evil whip cracking spa owners, sitting all day in an empty salon with no appointments showing up, lying butthead chiropractor crooks who never pay you what your worth or even on time…..never knowing if you’ll make 1000 dollars or 200 dollars a week, ridiculously expensive CEU’s, fees, tables, chairs, etc, driving 20 miles for the client who doesnt show up to the office, hurt back, hurt wrists, but all the clients complain “it’s never deep enough” gross smelly patients with hairy backs, snide comments from other therapists who view you as a threat, and an endless stream of new grads (every six months how many schools graduate a plethora of hopefuls who make the competition even more fierce) phew!! I have never made it…im going back to school for nursing…more money, more jobs
A friend of mine just called me and was all upset regarding an incident that happened at work today. She is a Certified Nursing Assistnant and was accused of negligence. She said she was helping a co-worker bathe another resident. Well in the mean time one of the resident’s was not repositioned within the 2 hrs. What I don’t understand is why another person could not reposition him. I understand that they were not assigned but they knew she was helping a co-worker. Basically it was reported to the Dept. Of Health. What happens after that? Will she lose her licenses? Will she have to go to court? Does anyone know?
She was the nursing home and said he had a red breakdown on one of his hips, foot, and face. I’m not sure what she means by breakdown but that’s the only details she gave me.
I guess the reason she is so upset is that they told her it was getting reported to the Dept. of Health? I am just finding these details out as the answers are coming in. Thanks.
